The I.K.U meaning “I Know You” is an idea conceived by the rapper as a medium in with he throws yearly shout out to individuals that has contributed to his career through the year. Song was Prod. by Effiko beats, M&M by Dynamyt.
The currently buzzing act having recently performed with vector tha viper SkidX aka. YungJarga, has finally dropped the much awaited song, which is expected to burst speakers, rock playlists, Shutdown concerts and Level up streets.
The Candy Music’s act promised to deliver in the much waited song and he sure did. Download, Listen and share your thoughts.
Song: Jaybeatz @Itzjaybeatz – “Aunty Basira” Ft. Jayzlar
The song came in a cool and calm manner, what was supposed to be an R&b tune in its 9ja’s own unique style. As expected Jaybeatz gave in a sensational feel in the instrumentation.
In terms of vocals, being the featured artiste, Jayzlar stole away all the shine to himself, giving in a remarkable performance both in the chorus (refrain) and his verse. Simply put, professionally taken and superb.
Where i have a little issue with track in general is on the rap verses. Although the beat maker flowed properly, i would consider the rap verses as mediocre and old style. Reminds me of the kind on verses you hear from a Nigerian up-comer in my secondary school days. The auto tune was also easily noticeable.
The song was generally cool, had a clear and well conveyed massage, good instrumentation, average mix and good impression.
Having heard this song once, i knew it was going to be my fastest and easiest reviews ever.
First the cover art kind of gave me a picture of what to expect, didn’t want to judge the song by its cover, so i decided to give it a chance, after a listen i began to ponder on what I’ve done to myself.
Wouldn’t have gone ahead with the review, but i thought of the promise i already made and considered the money spent in the production of the song.
Although the song had a cool instrumental and quality mix as expected from King D, it lacked in every way. I repeat every way. Its hook which was the only part worth giving ears was catchy and well conveyed but was meaningless. “So good to know i love you“. I still cant relate.
The act Leo Brown displayed some level of inner potentials in the verses, but the lyrics was weak and playfully/unseriously conveyed. Again the act demonstrated a high rate of unprofessionalism in his add-lips and backups, and later ended the song with a rather poor coda (outro). To mention but a few.
Having carefully listened to this song, i know that this act has lots of potentials if he can put in more work take his music more seriously. The music industry today has no place for mediocre talent. He could be the next CDQ or Olamide if he improves.
Considering the work put in this track by all persons involved, we would be rating the song 3.5/10.
Sad to say, even with the buzz this song has garnered over the past month, for no reason i haven’t listened to it until this review.
No long talk, “Right Now” is doubtlessly a well and properly conveyed song. The Stevjazz crafted instrumental ( although sounded like a modified version of Ryan’s Gimme Love instru.) already set a good pace in which the whole song went.
The song started out in a juicy way, capable of capturing a first time listener’s attention courtesy of its intro, 4bars pre-hook. and superb verses.
The Disturbing KD act Mstruff displayed a commendable level of professionalism in the way he conveyed the song. Although i have an issue with the hook. Imagine repeating a 16bar chorus (refrain) trice in a 3:34 minutes song, leaving the listener with two verses of 16bar and 8bars.
The song generally had a meaningful and well selected lyrics, the chorus (refrain), apart from being lengthy was tiring as it had too much use of the songs title “Right Now“
Knowing this is a normal practice, being an attempt to make a song catchy, this has to be done in a cautious manner.
Generally, the song has a good impression, which is most important, meaningful lyrics, an average instrumentation and well mixed vocals (s/o Balani.)
On a rating of 1-10, i would give “Right Now” by Mstruff.6.7/10. (Trust me this is relatively a good score)
